Infinitives, Participles, and Gerunds, so common in our everyday language, don’t have to be confusing and scary!    They can be intuitive –  a powerful addition to students’ reading and writing toolkit.

Un-vilifying Verbals includes:

  • a compendium of sentences for symbolizing. Students first work with each isolated verbal type and then with a mix of verbals.  Sentences have cross-curricular links, doubling the benefit to the student from this work. (Sentences are formatted to be student-ready: just print and go.)
  • a refresher discussion of infinitives, participles, and gerunds.  The discussion is sufficient to enable teachers to supplement grammar lessons they received in training or to create their own lessons. (The complete lesson sequence can be found in For the Love of Language!)
