Divided Fraction Skittles

$5.00

Have you been frustrated by how easily fraction problems that are computationally straightforward exceed the capacity of the Montessori fraction materials?  Use these cards to represent divided fraction skittles from fifths to tenths to extend the limits to problems that can be completed with materials so that children can learn fraction multiplication and division concretely!

Note: this is a card set; 3-dimensional wooden skittles are not included.

This download is FREE with the purchase of Zero to One!
If purchasing only the divided fraction skittles, the digital file will be available for download upon completing payment.  On your order confirmation, scroll down to DOWNLOADS and click on the DIVIDED FRACTION SKITTLES button. More Details

Teaching fraction division with materials is a phenomenal way for children to discover the real relationship to fraction multiplication, but the problems that we can give to the children are limited by the fact that most wooden divided skittles only go as small as 1/4 or 1/5.

This downloadable .pdf has photographs of a unit skittle with a color-coded fraction superimposed on it to represent fractional skittles from fifths to tenths. It also includes blanks so that you can write in whatever fraction you wish. Expand the number and types of problems that you can give the children and lead them to the real reason that “invert and multiply” works!
